Schimek did not play a game with Providence this past season

Former Providence College defenseman Will Schimek has transferred to the University of Alaska-Anchorage, Brad Elliott Schlossman reported.
Schimek, who hails from Mendota Heights, Minn., joins the Seawolves after spending the past three seasons with Providence. Although Schimek did not see a game in 2023-24, he has collected one assist in 20 career NCAA games.
Prior to joining the NCAA, Schimek played junior hockey with the Grande Prairie Storm (AJHL) and Sioux Falls Stampede (USHL).
With Schimek making the move to Alaska, there is a strong possibility he plays regular minutes with the Seawolves. Although Schimek may not make a regular offensive impact, he does a good job shutting down opponents in his own zone and likes to throw the body whenever he is given the opportunity to do so.
