The Raiders are a NCAA D-III team in New Hampshire

Rivier University (NCAA D-III) have hired former Providence College and NHL forward Tim Schaller as an assistant coach, the team announced Tuesday.

Schaller, a product of Merrimack, N.H., joins the Raiders for his first job in coaching. Schaller last played in the AHL with the Milwaukee Admirals during the 2022-23 season.

Having done undrafted, Schaller made his professional debut during the 2013-14 season with the Rochester Americans (AHL). Over the course of a 10-year pro career, Schaller played in 345 AHL regular season games and 276 NHL regular season games.

Prior to turning pro, Schaller spent four seasons with the Friars, collecting 29 goals and 39 assists for 68 points in 131 games.

As Schaller makes the transition into coaching, he will have the opportunity to learn under Raiders head coach Shaun Millerick. As someone who has played at the highest levels of hockey, Schaller should be a solid mentor for those looking to make the jump into the pro game.
