Junfu Han / USA TODAY NETWORK - Former Wolverine Chase Pletzke signs with ECHL's Kalamazoo Wings

Former Michigan and Miami (Ohio) forward Chase Pletzke has signed a one-year deal with the ECHL's Kalamazoo Wings, the team announced Wednesday.

A product of Bay City, Mich., Pletzke suited up in 30 games for the Wolverines last season, putting up a goal and an assist in the process. Prior to that, Pletzke spent four seasons with the RedHawks, scoring 15 goals and adding nine assists for 24 points in 100 games.

Before jumping to the NCAA in 2019, Pleztke played junior hockey in the NAHL (Lone Star Brahmas) and the BCHL (Langley Rivermen).

As Pletzke gets set to begin his pro career in his home state, Pletzke will be worth monitoring to see what role he can carve out for himself. Although his numbers have taken a hit over the past two seasons, Pletzke has the talents to carve himself a role and stick at the ECHL level.
