The Adirondack Thunder (ECHL) have signed defenseman James Marooney to a one-year deal, the team announced Tuesday.
Hailing from Chaska, Minn., Marooney suited up for the University of St. Thomas this past season, collecting five assists in 15 games.
Having joined the NCAA in 2019, Marooney spent four seasons at Ohio State and one with the Tommies. In 95 career games, he scored one goal and added 19 assists for 20 points.
Marooney is a smart, puck-moving defenseman who has the ability to find teammates through traffic and in transition. With this skillset, he should have no problem jumping in with the Thunder and making a mark.
