Dowhaniuk is currently playing for the WHL's Moose Jaw Warriors

Moose Jaw Warriors defenseman Keaton Dowhaniuk has committed to Alaska-Fairbanks, it was reported Monday.
Dowhaniuk, who hails from Star City, Sask., is in his final season of junior eligibility. Having split time between the WHL (Warriors & Prince George Cougars) and the BCHL (Vernon Vipers) in 2024-25, Dowhaniuk has a combined two goals and six assists for eight points in 21 games.
Drafted by the Cougars in the first round of the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft, Dowhaniuk has put up nine goals and 80 points across 237 career WHL regular season games.
With Dowhaniuk heading to the Nanooks next fall, he should be able to seize a role on their blueline immediately. A calming presence who can contribute on both ends, Dowhaniuk should be a difference maker out of the gates.
