Boston University received signed National Letters of Intent from three of their recruits today: defenseman Cole Hutson, Kamil Bednarik, and Cole Eiserman, a projected top-three pick in the upcoming NHL Draft.
Over the course of this week, we've seen players from all over the globe commit to different universities around the NCAA landscape. Today was the day that many USNTDP players committed.
Hutson, 17, is ranked as high as 20th and low as 25th by draft pundits. The 5-foot-10, 159-pound left-shot defenseman from North Barrington, Illinois, has played 17 games on the backend for the USNTDP and scored 17 points, most coming in the form of assists (13). He has also registered three assists in six games for the USNTDP juniors team in the United States Hockey League (USHL).
Cole and his brother Lane have lots in common regarding their play style. Two small, dynamic, lefty defensemen who love to get involved on the offensive end and both will significantly help the Terriers as they progress toward their goal of winning a national title.
The next player who put the pen to paper is Kamil Bednarik, 17, another player eligible for the 2024 Draft.
Bednarik is also an Illinois native, hailing from the city of Elmhurst. He's a left-handed center that stands at an even 6-foot and weighs 185 pounds.
While registering 17 points in 17 games with the USNTDP, Bednarik also just over a point per game with the USTNDP juniors team at seven points in six games.
And finally, the "cream of the crop" of this signing group, Cole Eiserman.
Eiserman, 17, is a 6-foot, 189-pound winger whose shot has him highly regarded in draft circles around the hockey world.
As far as the numbers go, they're just as impressive as you might think. In 16 games, Eiserman has a total of 30 points, with 21 of those being goals. And in six games with the USNTDP juniors team in the USHL, he has 11 points in 6 games, with 9 being goals.
To represent just how absurd that is, he's on pace for 83 goals in a 55-game season.
The likelihood of that happening feels low, but with a player like Eiserman, anything feels possible when it comes to scoring goals.
Here is Eiserman earning an assist on a Bednarik goal after using his impressive shot to create a rebound:
Eiserman was initially committed to the University of Minnesota, but instead, he decided to decommit and head to the northeast, as he's originally from Newburyport, Massachusetts, playing on the Boston Junior Bruins in his youth.
This signing class is one to remember for the Terriers, not just because of who they're getting in Eiserman, but the two other players in Hutson and Bednarik are sure to help their program win more games and move further up the totem pole.
