
Former UMass and Princeton forward Liam Gorman has signed a one-year deal with the ECHL's Allen Americans, it was announced this past week.
Drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the sixth round of the 2018 NHL Draft, Gorman spent this past season playing for the Minutemen where he had one goal and three assists for four points in 28 games.
Prior to UMass, Gorman spent parts of three seasons (and four years) at Princeton, where he collected 16 goals and 20 assists for 36 points in 91 games.
As Gorman makes the jump to the pro game, he will have the opportunity to seize a role with the Americans, While his offensive totals took a dip last year, Gorman proved he has offensive tools at his disposal and should be able to make plays happen with the puck on his stick at the ECHL level.
