Lush spent five seasons playing in the NCAA

The ECHL's Tulsa Oilers have signed goaltender Luke Lush to a one-year deal, the team announced this past week.

A product of Sherwood Park, Alta., Lush spent this past season with RIT, posting a 2-2-0 record to go along with a 2.27 GAA and a .919 SV% in four appearances. Along with his one season at RIT, Lush spent four years with Sacred Heart.

Over the course of 53 career NCAA appearances, Lush posted a 20-24-3 record, a 2.67 GAA and a .902 SV%. Prior to joining the NCAA, Lush played his junior hockey in the SJHL (La Range Ice Wolves) and AJHL (Camrose Kodiaks & Drayton Valley Thunder).

With Lush making the jump to the ECHL, it will be interesting to see how he is able to adapt to the pro game. While he has posted solid numbers, his only full season workload in the NCAA came during the 2022-23 season. In terms of attributes, Lush moves well in his net and does a good job tracking the puck through traffic. With a solid base to build upon, Lush could be a viable option for the Oilers.
