The Swedish netminder just finished his freshman season with the Yellow Jackets

The Colorado Avalanche have invited Merrimack goalie Nils Wallstrom to attend their devleopment camp, Mark Divver reported Friday.
Wallstrom, who played this past year at American International College, had a strong freshman season where he posted a record of 19-12-2 to go along with a 2.27 GAA and a .920 SV% in 33 appearances.
Prior to joining AIC, Wallstrom played his junior hockey in Sweden and in the NAHL with the Kenai River Brown Bears. In one season with the Brown Bears, he posted a 26-16-2 record to go along with a 2.89 GAA and a .919 SV%.
As Wallstrom joins Merrimack next season, it will be interesting to watch his development continue in North America. While he has only played two seasons since coming overseas, he had adapted to the smaller ice surface easily and could be a good candidate to post even better numbers next year.
