Minnesota Duluth freshman forward Max Plante has been named NCHC Forward of the Week, it was announced Monday.
A product of Hermantown, Minn., Plante posted two goals and an assist in the Bulldogs two-game series versus Arizona State this past weekend.
Drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the second round of the 2024 NHL Draft, Plante has been solid throughout his short time in the NCAA, collecting two goals and six points in five games.
Before making the jump to the NCAA and the Bulldogs, Plante spent two seasons at the U.S. NTDP, putting up 61 points in 51 games with their U18 team in 2023-24.
As Plante gets more and more acclimated to the NCAA, he will continue to be one to watch. Capable of creating plays out of nothing, Plante has been revelatory for the Bulldogs and will only continue to get better.
