Minnesota State forward Connor Gregga has transferred to Long Island University for the 2024-25 season, Brad Elliott Schlossman reported Monday.
The native of Markham, Ont., spent parts of the last four seasons playing for the Mavericks where he had 10 goals and eight assists for 18 points in 83 games.
Gregga's best season statistically came during the 2021-22 season, where he scored six goals and added four assists for 10 points in 31 games.
Before joining the Mavericks, Gregga played his junior hockey with the Coquitlam Express (BCHL) and the Stratford Warriors (GOJHL).
In two seasons with the Express, Gregga scored 35 goals and added 52 assists for 87 points in 109 games over two seasons. In his lone season with the Warriors in 2017-18, he had 45 points in 50 games.
Having proven to have a scorer's touch at the junior level, Gregga has yet to see that translate to the NCAA level but could be a good add for the Sharks.
As they look to improve upon their losing season in 2023-24, having finished with a 16-20-1 record, Long Island will look to get Gregga going alongside a solid core of players already on the roster.
