Northern Michigan freshman forward Grant Slukynsky has entered the transfer portal, Brad Elliott Schlossman reported Monday.
Schlossman also reported that Grant's younger brother Hampton, who was a 2023 fourth-round pick of the Los Angeles Kings, has de-committed from Northern Michigan.
Both Minnesota natives, Grant just wrapped up his freshman season with the Wildcats while Hampton just won a Clark Cup with the Fargo Force (USHL). In 34 games with Northern Michigan, Grant had six goals and three assists for nine points. Hampton, who is a goalie, posted a 28-3-0 regular season record to go along with a 1.86 GAA and a .923 SV%.
Although Northern Michigan had a really strong class of recruits coming in, this past week has changed everything. With numerous players entering the transfer portal, many are wondering how the Wildcats will be able to recover.
While it is unknown where the Slukynsky brothers will play next year, the program/programs that get them will be getting a big boost in talent.
