The Ohio State Buckeyes have hired Carter Krier as an assistant coach, it was announced Thursday.

A native of Moorhead, Minn., Krier joins the Buckeyes after working for the Fargo Force (USHL) over the past four seasons.

Still just 24 years old, Krier has risen quickly through the coaching ranks. After playing high school hockey, Krier hung up his pads in 2018 and joined East Grand Forks High (USHS) as an assistant and goaltending coach for the 2019-20 season.

While Krier worked for Grand Forks in the same role for the 2020-21 season, he also joined the Force as their goaltending coach.

While continuing to work for the Force as their goaltending coach, Krier added assistant coach to his mantel for the 2022-23 season and continued with both roles in 2023-24. Having helped guide the Force to the Clark Cup this past season, Krier will be one to watch as his career progresses.
