The Nashville Predators have invited Quinnipiac forward Mason Marcellus to the team's development camp, Mark Divver reported Wednesday.
Marcellus, who joined the Bobcats as a freshman this past season, had an immediate impact for the team - collecting 14 goals and 22 assists for 36 points in 39 games.
Before joining Quinnipiac, Marcellus played for the Drayton Valley Thunder (AJHL) and Lincoln Stars (USHL). In his one season with the Thunder, he had 22 points in 16 games while posting 114 points in 120 games across two seasons with the Stars.
Finishing third on the Bobcats in points behind Collin Graf and Jacob Quillan, Marcellus opened the eyes of many across the hockey world this past season.
A skilled puck handler who makes quick decisions under pressure, Marcellus has a good chance to impress Predators' management during development camp.
If the Predators don't sign him to an entry-level deal, it won't be long before another team takes a chance on him.
