Zelelnov is set to play for the USHL's Green Bay Gamblers this season
Green Bay Gamblers forward Vasili Zelenov has committed to Wisconsin, Mark Divver reported Sunday.
Divver reported that many teams were interested in his talents but Zelenov ultimately chose the Badgers.
Drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the seventh round of the 2024 NHL Draft, Zelenov spent last season playing for RB Hockey Juniors (AlpsHL). In 40 regular season games, he scored 14 goals and added 23 assists for 37 points.
With Zelenov impressing many across the hockey world in the USHL preseason, he will be one to watch this year. Although this is his first season on North American ice, he should be a consistent offensive threat for the Gamblers.
