Reid Glenn / USA TODAY NETWORK - St. Cloud State's Kaleb Tiessen to return next season, withdrew from transfer portal

St. Cloud State defenseman Kaleb Tiessen will return to the Huskies next season, it was announced this past week.

Tiessen, who just finished his freshman season with the team, originally entered the transfer portal but made the decision to withdraw from it.

A native of Leamington, Ont., Tiessen appeared in six games for the Huskies this past season, where he was held pointless.

Prior to joining the NCAA, Tiessen played junior hockey across multiple leagues including the GOJHL, OJHL, NCDC and NAHL. His best offensive output came with the Burlington Cougars (OJHL) during the 2021-22 season when he had 30 points in 50 games.

While he played minimally during his freshman season, it will be interesting to see what role Tiessen plays for the Huskies next year.
