The freshman defender recently finished his first season with the Huskies

St. Cloud State defenseman Tynan Ewart has entered the transfer portal, it was announced Tuesday.

A product of Duncan, B.C., Ewart just finished his freshman season with the Huskies where he had five assists in 19 games.

Before joining St. Cloud, Ewart played his junior hockey with the Battlefords North Stars of the SJHL. Over parts of three seasons with the team, he scored 14 goals and added 74 assists for 88 points in 114 games.

Ewart would be a good get for a team looking for a defenseman with untapped offensive potential. Named the SJHL's Best Defenseman in 2022-23, Ewart has the offensive instincts that should allow him to produce more next year. With NCAA experience under his belt, if he can find a team that will play him in big situations, it could be a great fit for both team and player.
