Former Vermont defenseman Ralfs Bergmanis is taking his talents to Minnesota State, it was announced this past week.
Bergmanis, a product of Liepaja, Latvia, entered the transfer portal in May after spending two seasons at Vermont.
In 32 games this past season with the Catamounts, Bergmanis had two goals and 10 assists for 12 points. Over the course of his 68 games in the NCAA, Bergmanis has 18 points.
Prior to joining Vermont, Bergmanis played one season in the USHL with the Sioux City Musketeers where he was part of the team that took home the Clark Cup.
As Bergmanis joins the Mavericks, he will have the opportunity to seize a big role with the team. As someone who has consistently gotten better over the course of his time in the NCAA, Bergmanis could be a great get for the Mavericks.
