Lee spent the majority of the 2023-24 season with the Wheeling Nailers

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have signed former Denver Pioneers defenseman Justin Lee to a one-year deal, the team announced Friday.

Lee, a native of Waskada, Man., spent time last season with the Penguins and Wheeling Nailers. In two regular season games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, he was held pointless. With the Nailers, he scored nine goals and added 24 assists for 33 points in 63 regular season games.

Prior to turning pro, Lee spent four seasons with the Pioneers, collecting 41 points in 133 career games and served as captain during his senior season with the team.

As Lee heads into his second full season in the Penguins organization, he has a strong chance to see more AHL time. He performed well in the ECHL and deserves the opportunity to showcase his skills at the AHL level.
