The New Jersey Devils have a plethora of depth on the its blue line, and another player is coming.

Anton Silayev's agent confirmed with The Hockey News that the 19-year-old is expected to transition his game to North America for the 2026-27 season.

The 6-foot-7 defenseman is under contract with the KHL until May 31, 2026 and will play for the Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in 2025-26.

Drafted by New Jersey in 2024, 10th overall, Silayev is coming off a season where he earned a career-high 12 points in 63 games.

"(Silayev) is long, he gets to people in a hurry because of his skating and his reach,” Devils chief scout Mark Dennehy said in 2024. "He is only going to get stronger. There is a lot of growth left in his game."
New Jersey's young prospect was unable to attend the Devils 2025 Development Camp due to issues with his visa, but did participate the year prior.
