More than one week after acquiring Erik Karlsson, there's speculation the Pittsburgh Penguins still aren't done adding to their roster.

The Pittsburgh Penguins made the biggest trade of the year with last week's acquisition of Erik Karlsson. That prompted some observers to wonder if GM Kyle Dubas had any more significant moves up his sleeve.
Dubas told reporters he didn't anticipate making any further major moves. He didn't rule out the possibility of professional tryout offers but felt he'll be heading into training camp next month with his current group of players.
Following the Karlsson trade, Nick Horwat cited Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman speculating about the Penguins looking into signing free-agent winger Tomas Tatar. Horwat agreed that the 32-year-old winger would cover for Jake Guentzel while he recovered from ankle surgery. However, Dubas noted Guentzel might not miss as much time to start the season as originally believed.
The Athletic's Rob Rossi subsequently cited an interview Tatar gave to a Slovak media outlet saying he'd had talks with the Penguins. Rossi believes it could come down to whether Tatar gets a guaranteed contract from another club compared to a professional tryout offer from the Penguins with the expectation of a contract.
Pittsburgh Hockey Now's Dan Kingerski observed the Penguins are sitting just $220,000 under the cap, with Guentzel not expected to go on long-term injury reserve to start the season. It might take one or two cost-cutting moves to free up sufficient room for Tatar.
Kingerski also shot down a silly rumor claiming Dubas would bring back former Penguins star Jaromir Jagr on a one-year contract. That story started out as a joke on social media that got blown out of proportion.
