Bakersfield Condors unveil AHL jerseys, awesome secondary logo

The Bakersfield Condors are going to look good next season. The club revealed their jerseys for the upcoming campaign and the updated logo looks great on Oilers blue and orange. The team also unveiled a great secondary logo that will be used as a shoulder patch.

In the move from the ECHL to the AHL, the Bakersfield Condors kept their name, but after a slight alteration to the logo comes a brand new set of threads for next season and the Condors nailed it. As with many AHL clubs, the Condors jerseys for the 2015-16 season will reflect their parent club’s jerseys, as Bakersfield will be wearing jerseys resembling those of the Edmonton Oilers. Much like Edmonton’s jerseys, the blue, white and orange combination pops, but where the Condors’ new sweater really stands out is on the shoulders.

On the right shoulder of the jersey is the Oilers logo – many AHL clubs have their NHL affiliate’s logo as a primary shoulder patch – but on the left is a condor talon latched onto a drop of oil, a nice homage to the parent club and a way for the Condors to connect both teams in one crisp, clean logo.

“I think it’s a perfect combination of the two (clubs jersey’s),” said Kevin Bartl, Bakersfield’s VP of Communications

in a video unveiling the new duds. “I think most of the fans are pretty excited that the Condors name is staying, but obviously, with the Oilers affiliation and strengthening their brand down here with us. All the future Oilers stars, or most of them anyway, are going to come through Condorstown, so it makes sense they get used to wearing the blue and orange.” Bartl also mentioned that when it comes to merchandising, the alternate logo will be featured on some of the memorabilia that fans will be able to get their hands on. The Condors will begin play in the AHL’s brand new Pacific Division next season along with several other new clubs, including the San Diego Gulls, San Jose Barracuda, Stockton Heat and Ontario Reign.
