COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Blue Jackets recalled centre Derick Brassard on Thursday from their American Hockey League affiliate in Syracuse, N.Y.

Brassard, 20, the team's top pick in the 2006 entry draft, is expected to make his NHL debut in Columbus against the St. Louis Blues on Friday night.

Brassard, a native of Hull, Que., was sidelined for much of the 2006-2007 season with a shoulder injury. He scored five goals and had 20 assists in 21 games with the Syracuse Crunch this season and was selected Wednesday to play in the AHL all-star game on Jan. 28.
