The Boston Bruins called up Mike Brown from the Long Beach Ice Dogs of the ECHL on Sunday and assigned Brian Finley to their American Hockey League affiliate in Providence.

Brown had a record of 1-4-2 with a 3.15 goals-against average and a .892 save percentage for the Ice Dogs. The 21-year-old was a fifth-round pick of the Bruins in 2003.

He started the season with the Providence but did not appear in any AHL games.

Finley took the loss for Boston after being inserted midway through the game against Toronto on Thursday. He gave up two goals in relief of Tim Thomas in the 6-4 loss.

Finley signed with the Bruins in July after spending four years in the Nashville Predators' organization. He has played eight games with Providence this season, with a 5-3-0 record and 3.08 goals-against average.
