Carey Price Unsure of NHL Future
Will Carey Price return to the NHL season? Even he's unsure.
During Montreal's end of season press conferences, Price told the media that he was unsure of whether or not he'll play in 2022-23 after missing most of the season with a knee ailment. Price only played five games during the year, winning the finale 10-2 over Florida.
When asked if Price believes he could go back to a heavier workload of around 60 gamex next season, Price said: "My honest opinion is no. I don't believe that the current state would be sustainable for a whole season.
"I've got a lot of time over the summer to prepare, so we'll see."
Price also said he prepared for Friday's game as if it could have been his last.
"The whole day, it was just an exceptional day for myself. I had a great sleep, it was just an A+ day," Price said. "So if it is it, then that would be a great way to do it."
Price took the Canadiens on an improbable Stanley Cup final run last year. The Canadiens made Price available for Seattle's expansion draft, but was left unclaimed. Montreal went through a host of goaltenders to fill the crease, but the team ultimately finished dead last.
