I have to applaud the class of my favorite team's city in the heart-warming gesture that was shown on Saturday Nov. 25.

Edmonton Oiler season ticket holders gave up their seats to Canadian soldiers and their families to enjoy a game against the Blackhawks.

The fans were treated to a very exciting game that went to a shootout that Edmonton won. At the end of the game the Oilers came out to raise their sticks in a show of respect to the soldiers.

I have been a longtime fan and am proud of this organization and their fans that continue to give me a reason to stick with them, even in times of hardship.

Bravo Edmonton, you truly are the “City of Champions.”
