Forwards Connor Bedard and Macklin Celebrini made history last night after becoming the second pair of players aged 20 or under to record hat tricks on the same night.

The feat was first achieved on Feb. 19, 1944, when Toronto Maple Leafs teammates Jack Hamilton and Bud Poile combined for seven goals in the team's 10-4 win over the Boston Bruins.

Bedard, 20, tallied three goals and helped lead the Chicago Blackhawks to a 5-2 victory over the Calgary Flames. Celebrini, 19, notched all three of the San Jose Sharks goals in their 3-2 win over the Utah Mammoth.

Bedard and Celebrini have taken significant steps this season, as they each rank top five in points, and have propelled the success of their teams. Last night's showing may have been the best yet from two future faces of the league.
