Hilary Knight Inks One-Year Deal With PWHL's Newest Team In Seattle
It's official, perhaps the greatest forward in USA Hockey history, Hilary Knight will be an inaugural member of PWHL Seattle after signing a one-year deal with the team. Seattle entered the league as their eighth team via expansion earlier this year.
PWHL's Seattle and Vancouver expansion squads must be over the moon with the players who were left unprotected.
Having only six original teams means there's a lot of talent for the two teams to choose from, but Seattle getting Hilary Knight is massive news. And Vancouver got two defender of the year finalists from the back-to-back Walter Cup champions, the Minnesota Frost, with Claire Thompson and Sophie Jacques. Ian Kennedy has been all over this news on The Hockey News' women's hockey site.
There's still an expansion draft yet to come as well. Will we ever see expansion rules that favor the expansion teams this much again? In any league?
