What's your favorite hockey tournament? Is it one that you look forward to months in advance and watch with family and friends? Is it the one with the most thrilling action?
Or is it a tournament you've played in? Maybe it was an away tournament you played in growing up, or a one-day event where you played three games or more in a matter of hours? It doesn't just have to be one you watch.
My favorite hockey tournament to watch is the Olympics. There's something special about it being part of a wide variety of sporting competitions happening in the same area all at once, with national pride on the line. But my favorite tourney that I played in was out of town, and we beat our rivals in the semifinal, months before we won our playoff final against them. We ended up winning that tourney as well, thanks to a 6-0 victory in the final. I still have the tournament MVP trophy, but that might've been one of those times where they've got no clue who to give it to, and they just decide to hand it over to the goalie.
So let's hear your story. What's your favorite hockey tournament and why?
