With the 73rd overall selection in the 2025 draft, the Pittsburgh Penguins selected Charlie Trethewey, a product of the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite Program with some hometown roots.

Less than a year ago, many draft boards had Trethewey going in the first round, and some have compared his toolset to Kashawn Aitcheson, who was selected 17th overall by the New York Islanders.
