In case you missed it, the first part of The Hockey News' pre-season fan survey was released Thursday.

For the most underrated player question, Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki got the most votes with 13, while Jets left winger Kyle Connor finished second with 12.

Let's narrow the focus to just these two players, because there were 112 players mentioned in total.

Suzuki had 30 goals and 59 assists for 89 points last season. In 2023-24, he had 33 goals and 44 assists for 77 points. But he didn't make Canada's 4 Nations Face-Off squad, but NHL.com did rank him the league's 10th-best center.

Connor had 41 goals and 56 assists for 97 points last season. In 2023-24, he had 34 goals and 27 assists for 61 points. He did make USA's 4 Nations team, and NHL.com ranked him ninth among wingers.

Connor's had two 90-point campaigns and six seasons of at least 60 points out of a total of nine seasons. Suzuki hasn't reached 90 points yet, but he has exceeded 60 points four times out of six NHL seasons.

In THN's Top 100 NHLers issue, Connor was ranked 38th, while Suzuki was 61st.

So after all that, who is more underrated: Suzuki or Connor?
