The Medicine Hat Tigers winger and projected first overall in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft has announced that he will play next season at Penn State University in the NCAA. McKenna will join former Tri-City Americans defenceman Jackson Smith, as well as former Spokane Chiefs forward Shea Van Olm, who are also headed to Penn State in 2025-26.
