Is anyone as sick and tired of hearing and reading about Mitch Marner and his move to Vegas as much as I am? Between socials, blogs, professional journalists, TV personalities etc. etc. please give it a rest already.

Marner left on his terms for which he was 100% entitled. Leafs made stupid choice to give 'everyone' on team no move clauses. Toronto should just stop its whining and 'let it go'! You leave your employer, do you think they keep rehashing your tenure? They thank you and move on. There is no debt owed on either side. The ledger is clean.

Continuing to dredge up the past, whether you support or hated Marner's decision just reinforces the weak psyche and poor self image Torontonians have about themselves. Who gives a crap anymore! I know media needs clicks and talking heads need something to bluster about, but it all sounds pathetic.

Oh, Mitch said this and that in his post game presser and it was a shot at Toronto. Really? Is Toronto's self validation and self worth tied to and dependent on how other's view us? If yes, then our city is doomed. Grow up and grow a pair! The only reaction Toronto should have to derogatory remarks is silence. Anything else is a waste of time. Toronto must stay proud, confident and resilient. To those who don't want to live in and play here... 'the hell with you'. We don't want you!

Leaf players are employees, just like anyone else in the world who is fortunate to be employed. Primary difference; all professional athletes are ridiculously and egregiously overpaid for what is entertainment. Professional sports have made athletes commodities to be bought, sold or traded. Society's hierarchy of well paid occupations is messed up!

As a fan of all Toronto teams, I cheer them on when they win, cringe when they lose, but regardless of outcome, next day I go to work and continue on as the outcome had little to no effect on my life. (Unless you're a serial gambler. But that's another social blight for another day.)

Marner doesn't know nor care who I am or what I say. Why the F should I care what he says and does? His employment is on a 200' sheet of ice. He's paid to play. He just chose to play somewhere else. Good for him. Best of luck in the finals.
