In April's issue of The Hockey News, we gave our picks for the top-100 players currently in the NHL. Atop the list was Nathan MacKinnon, followed by Connor McDavid, Cale Makar and McDavid's teammate Leon Draisaitl.
Keep in mind, this list was made before the Stanley Cup playoffs had reached their conclusion, so some players who had big playoff performances, most notably Panthers forward and Conn Smythe winner Sam Bennett, didn't make the cut.
But let's look ahead to the future. Which players who weren't on the 2025 list will make the cut in 2026?
