Daniel Alfredsson, a longtime Ottawa Senators captain and most recently their assistant coach, is expected to join the Toronto Maple Leafs as an associate head coach, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

Does time heal all wounds or something?

What other instances of a star player or captain joining a rival come to mind? Dion Phaneuf was traded from the Maple Leafs to Senators, but I doubt Leafs fans think of Phaneuf the way Sens fans think of Alfredsson.
