Coyotes Acquire Coveted Prospect Jack McBain for Draft Pick
The Arizona Coyotes have acquired Jack McBain from Minnesota Wild for a 2022 second-round pick.
McBain wasn't going to sign with Minnesota, so it's expected that a contract will come in short order.
McBain was a highly coveted prospect after his fourth year with Boston College. McBain had 19 goals and 33 points in 24 games to lead the team in scoring, beating out 10 other NHL prospects for the title. The two-time Hockey East champion made the league's second all-star team this season, and he highlighted the season with two points at the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing.
If McBain signs, he'll be eligible to join the Coyotes in short order once he overcomes a current injury.
