Dallas Stars captain Brendan Morrow out indefinitely with wrist injury

Morrow suffered the injury when he was stepped on in Dallas' 2-1 loss to Chicago on Tuesday night. He was discharged from a Chicago hospital on Wednesday morning and returned to Dallas, where he will be monitored and re-evaluated by the team's medical staff.

In 27 games for Dallas this season, Morrow has 10 goals and 10 assists for 20 points. The native of Carlyle, Sask., signed a US$24.6-million, six-year contract over the summer and replaced Mike Modano as Stars captain.

Dallas has recalled winger Chris Conner from the AHL's Iowa Stars to fill in for Morrow. The American Conner played his first two NHL games earlier this month.
