

Shortly after playing one of his best games as an NHL player, Matthew Knies of the Toronto Maple Leafs did a scrum with reporters, then was pulled aside for another interview request, to which he gladly complied.
In Slovak. The son of Slovak immigrants has enough of a command of the language that he can do full-on television interviews, which is pretty impressive.
But it's not nearly as impressive as how good this kid can be when he gets on a roll, as he did with three points in Monday's 5-3 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning. When Knies is going hard to the net and skating with confidence, he has the potential to be a special player. Once he figures out how to do that with more consistency, he's going to be a force in the NHL.
