
It's remarkable how few players there are with a Stanley Cup pedigree remaining among the NHL's final four teams, says Ken Campbell.
Aleksander Barkov and Erik GustafssonIf you're a fan of the television show The Office, you no doubt will recall the time boss Michael Scott talked about how he wanted to inject some new blood into the company in an effort to, "euthanize this place."
Even though the word usage was all wrong, the sentiment hit the mark. It's kind of the same with the Stanley Cup in 2024, which could be awarded to the Florida Panthers for the first time in NHL history.
But regardless of which NHL team wins, there will be a lot, and we mean a lot, of first-timers to get their names etched on the trophy. By our count, there are only five players among the remaining teams who have previously won a Stanley Cup, with Corey Perry going back to 2007 and Tyler Seguin to 2011.
