The Calgary Flames have added depth forward Kevin Rooney on a two-year deal worth $1.3 million per season.

Rooney spent the first four years of his career in the New jersey devils organization, mainly as an in-betweener in the NHL and AHL.

He finally became a full-time player in 2019-20 with the Devils before joining the Rangers, where he served in a depth role the past two years.

Rooney will provide the team with some cheap depth as they enter an uncertain summer with Johnny Gaudreau on the way out.
