Florida Panthers Dazzle With Stanley Cup Ring – Will They Unveil Another One Next Fall?
Just in time for the start of the NHL’s 2024-25 regular season, the Stanley Cup-champion Florida Panthers unveiled their championship rings Monday.
The ring – made by American memorabilia manufacturer Jostens – is appropriately gorgeous, with the Panthers’ logo on the face and a whopping 554 diamonds, 16 princess-cut rubies, one round genuine ruby, 37 genuine round yellow sapphires and nine round genuine blue sapphires used in the design. The ring is crafted in 14-karat yellow gold and has a gem-carat weight of 15.6 carats.
The inside of each ring includes Florida’s four playoff series results, a rendering of the official WWE and NHL championship belt, and a rat design that's iconic to Panthers fans. There are also Florida palm trees on the exterior, as well as a Cup and each player’s surname and jersey number.
All in all, the Cup ring is a wonderful token of the Panthers’ championship ride, and it provides serious motivation for Florida to get back-to-back championships by winning another Cup this season. And really, would you be doing yourself a favor by betting against them this year? We don’t think so.
As we predicted recently, we like the Panthers to repeat as Atlantic Division champs this season, and from there, they will be favored in almost every post-season series they’ll participate in next spring.
It took the Panthers 30 seasons to win their first Cup, but their second could come right away. They’ve lost a few veterans to salary cap constrictions, including Brandon Montour and Vladimir Tarasenko, but their core of talent remains the same, with Aleksander Barkov, Matthew Tkachuk, Sam Reinhart and more. They’re almost assuredly going to make some in-season additions to bulk up for a post-season run.
It’s incredibly difficult for teams to repeat as champions in the NHL, but Florida has an excellent chance of doing so. Health and endurance will be major factors – as it is for every playoff team – but the Panthers now have Cup-winning experience to draw on, as well as a terrific coach in Paul Maurice and motivated ownership to spend whatever’s necessary to win it all again.
If they do win back-to-back Cups, that second championship ring is going to be even more spectacular.
