Flyers nullify trade with Sharks for defenceman Kyle McLaren

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Flyers announced Friday that they have nullified their trade with the San Jose Sharks in which they acquired defenceman Kyle McLaren.

McLaren, acquired Wednesday in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick in 2009, did not pass his physical, according to Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren.

McLaren was to be assigned to the Philadelphia Phantoms, the Flyers' American Hockey League affiliate.

McLaren, 31, has six assists and 17 penalty minutes in 17 games with San Jose's AHL affiliate, the Worcester Sharks this season.
