Racism is far too prevalent in all levels of hockey.

The Hockey Diversity Alliance has made it their mission to eradicate it.

The HDA launched a new anti-hate campaign on Saturday morning in conjunction with Budweiser Canada, releasing a powerful video that asks those watching if they will stand against racism in hockey.

The video features a group of hockey's most influential and prominent voices that belong to minority groups, with current NHLers Toronto Maple Leafs forward Wayne Simmonds, Colorado Avalanche forward Nazem Kadri, Florida Panthers forward Anthony Duclair, Minnesota Wild defenseman Matt Dumba, and former NHLers Akim Aliu, Christ Stewart, and Trevor Daley each sharing their personal stories of how they experienced racism throughout their lives in the hockey community, both in the NHL and outside of it.

The video displays this message by showing an unfiltered view of the horrors these players face for simply being who they are, including graphic direct messages and tweets sent to the players in question that feature truly reprehensible racist and prejudiced language, which is an unfortunate reality that those who belong to minority groups have been forced to endure.

Not if the HDA has something to say about it, though. Not anymore.

As part of the campaign, the HDA is releasing a specially-branded hockey tape with the message "Racism Has No Place in Hockey" printed on it, emboldened by the hashtag #TapeOutHate.

Those who support this initiative are encouraged to use the tape on their sticks when playing to showcase their belief that hockey should be a safe place for all who seek to play.
