The (Hockey) God's Plan? Drake Reportedly Upset that Jagr Booked the Nicest Hotel Rooms in Pittsburgh

“I was told something similar over the weekend," Nick Horwat of The Hockey News' Penguins site said about Drake's reaction to Jaromir Jagr's hotel choice.

On this day in 2014, Sidney Crosby's assist on an empty-net goal made him the sixth-fastest player to reach 500 in his career.

In case you didn't know already, Pittsburgh belongs to Jaromir Jagr.

Last week, the future Hall of Fame forward returned to his former stomping grounds to see the Penguins raise his No. 68 to the rafters. As such, Jagr arrived with friends and family in the city several days early and spent the night in a hotel. And it apparently wasn't just some hotel.

Rather, it was the Fairmont, which also happens to be the preferred hotel of Canadian rapper Drake, who was in town for a concert and was reportedly upset that someone had booked all the nicest rooms.

“I was told something similar over the weekend," The Hockey News reporter Nick Horwat said. "Icon."

Blame it on Jagr if you want. But maybe this was the (hockey) God's Plan.

Also, it's doubtful that Drake would be all that upset. After all, he apparently is a huge Jagr fan, as evidenced by this hilarious clip from the time when Drake hosted Saturday Night Live.

Either way, Pittsburgh remains Jagr's home.

“That was the city that drafted me,” he told Tom Gulitti of NHL.com ahead of his number retirement ceremony on Sunday. "That’s the city where they treated me like I was their kid."
