This week in hockey, Oilers fans respond to Will Ferrell's face paint, Skittles chirps the Boston Bruins, and the Seattle Kraken did not forget their doubters.
To the surprise of no one, the first round of the NHL post-season has been very entertaining. The Eastern and Western Conferences have given us plenty of fun topics to get into for another edition of Hockey Things:
One of the best moments from the Oilers-Kings series didn't come from what happened on the ice but from what was happening in the stands.
Acting legend Will Ferrell was in the stands for multiple games in the series, and he was fully on board with his Kings support with his face painted for multiple games.
The face paint didn't go without a response from Oilers fans and even the media, including Edmonton radio host Lauren Hunter of Sonic 102.3 FM.
We'll now have to see what celebrity Vegas Golden Knights fan paints their face to see if Edmontonians will once again have another fun reply during their series.
Every once in a while, we make an exception and break our timeline by including stories that happened on Monday for Hockey Things. Today is another one of those days.
With the hockey world still trying to absorb the Florida Panthers knocking out the Boston Bruins on Sunday, the Twitter account for Skittles posted a joke at the expense of the Bruins.
Ouch.
We wonder if the Colorado Avalanche are breathing a sigh of relief after being spared from jokes by the iconic candy brand after the reigning champs were also eliminated on Sunday.
Before the Seattle-Colorado series kicked off, many platforms predicted the Avalanche to easily win the series. After the Kraken defeated Colorado, their social team was quick to show how few people believed in them advancing.
The Kraken showed many they would be a challenge for Colorado and absolutely deserve to puff out their chests online after a very impressive series win.
