Toronto Maple Leafs fans have seen lots of discussion in the past few days about the team's future with Tyler Bertuzzi and Max Domi.

The pending UFAs and the Maple Leafs have interest in getting new deals done, The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun reported on Friday.

THN.com/Toronto's David Alter cited LeBrun wondering if a five- or six-year deal would work for Domi, but Bertuzzi could also be a highly coveted free agent.

The Maple Leafs have 14 of 23 roster spaces filled for next season and under $20 million in cap space to fill in the rest, according to PuckPedia. With that, there will be tough decisions ahead regarding who to bring back. If the team decides it only has room for either Domi or Bertuzzi, that will be a debate that goes on until the beginning of free agency.

Adam Proteau put the Leafs' bubble players in tiers regarding the likelihood of returning on Sunday. Bertuzzi and Domi are both in the "maybe so" tier if the price is right. If not, they can look elsewhere in free agency for a middle-six forward.

The statistics are also really close, and that's an understatement.

Domi, 29, had nine goals and 38 assists for 47 points in 80 regular-season games. He also had a goal and four points in the playoffs.

Bertuzzi, 29, has 21 goals and 22 assists for 43 points in 80 games, and like Domi, he had a goal and four points in the first round.

Michael Traikos and Jacob Stoller discuss both players and predict who stays if the Maple Leafs can only pick one.
