Hockey card collecting really heats up each season with the annual release of Upper Deck Series One

Upper Deck’s flagship set has been a hobby mainstay since 1990-91, and for the first time in 20 years, the company has revised its configuration. Instead of 24 eight-card packs, boxes of Upper Deck Series One now contain 12 packs with 12 cards each. But don’t worry – there will still be six Young Guns rookie cards per box, and packs will now have an average of three insert cards each.

Popular inserts such as Canvas and Portraits return, while new Outburst Silver, Outburst Red (numbered to 25), and Outburst Gold (numbered 1/1) parallels debut in ’23-24. And lucky collectors can hope to find a short-printed “surprise” card of first-overall pick Connor Bedard.

Series One is on sale at card stores now and available at major big box retailers as of November 1. Find out more here.
