    TORONTO - New York Islanders forward Trevor Gillies has been suspended 10 games for his hit on Minnesota's Cal Clutterbuck.

    Gillies hit Clutterbuck in the head from behind in the Islanders 4-1 win over the Wild on Wednesday.

    Gillies is considered a repeat offender after being suspended for nine games in February and will forfeit US$60,975.60 in salary.

    He's eligible to return March 26 when New York plays the Philadelphia Flyers.

    Gillies has one goal and 124 penalty minutes in 33 games this season.
