Johan Franzen, Mikael Samuelsson and Corey Perry named NHL three stars of week

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Red Wings forward Johan Franzen was named the NHL's first star of the week Monday after leading all players in scoring last week—and needing just one game to do it.

Franzen scored five times in Detroit's 7-5 victory over Ottawa last Wednesday to become the first five-goal scorer in over three years.

Vancouver Canucks right-winger Mikael Samuelsson was the second star after leading all NHL players with six points (2-4) last week.

Anaheim Ducks right-winger Corey Perry took the third star after recording five points (3-2) over the stretch.
