    Calgary (38-19-6) at Carolina (33-27-5), 7:00 p.m. EST

RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Newly acquired Olli Jokinen

and the Calgary Flames continue their season-high, seven-game

road trip when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday.

Traded by the Phoenix Coyotes for Matthew Lombardi, Brandon

Prust and a draft pick prior to the NHL trade deadline on

Wednesday, Jokinen shined in his debut with the Flames, who are

considered to be legitimate contenders in the crowded Western

    Conference.

The 11-year veteran netted two goals and helped Calgary post a

5-1 triumph over the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday for its

    second straight win.

The Flames, who are in third place in the West with 84 points,

successfully built off Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Ottawa

    Senators.

Carolina, meanwhile, has won two of its last three contests.

The Hurricanes are coming off a 5-2 victory over the Washington

Capitals on Tuesday - their best offensive effort since a win of

the same score over Colorado on February 22.
